Agreed Dynamos.

Phx, Orlando, Minneapolis, and Philly all illustrate no one has to "make" it complicated.

Not sure your point. How is the success of the Suns or the Magic anything like the success of the 76ers?

Each of those franchises has taken 5 or more years of mediocrity to rebuild. If one thinks Philly is a success, it shows actually how difficult the process of rebuilding is. If Thaddeus was part of that "process," and not a reset at the time, that timeline is even longer and less of a guarantee (I look at it as a reset of the timeline, to be clear).

Rebuilding isnt as easy as "don't make it complicated just draft a star."

edit: But, in the draft, select the best player available, regardless.

Ok, got it. And I agree. For Memphis, trades and low priced free agents were more important to our 7 year playoff run than the draft results. I'm ready to move on from Wallace too, but he did trade for Marc and ZBo, and did sign TA from the Celts. Not all bad.

Building through the draft is the best way for a small market team to rebuild

Same, I appreciate what Wallace has done, but sometimes a fresh start is best. He embodied the grinding overlooked identity of our teams, but from a FO sense (bootstrapped a scouting book, slept on benches in college, IIRC) & really embraced the city, but unless he kills it in this draft, I don't think we can keep him. I just don't know who would be equal or an improvement who would be available.

I'd love that. It would help Penny out too from a visibility standpoint.

And now, in an interesting move, the Suns just hired Doncic's 2017 head coach...

That's gonna be really awkward when the lottery balls give them the 4th pick.

Unless they trade. Or, maybe he knows enough about Doncic's weaknesses to say, nah, let's go with x, y, or z. Makes the lottery and draft a little bit more interesting. But, I hope you're right, as long as we move up.

So maybe we draft Ayton, re sign Tyreke, and draft Shake Milton. We pick up a future cornerstone C and PG, and a veteran SG.

Said it then and I’ll say it again...

#4 and Ben McLemore to DEN for #14 and Trey Lyles

Or

#4 and Ben McLemore to WAS for #15 and Kelly Oubre Jr.

I’m not sure the player you get at #4 is much better than #14 and in both scenarios we get a guy who can contribute from Day 1 on a playoff team, but is still young.

You don’t think Mo Bamba is much better than Robert Williams or Michael Porter is much better than Kevin Knox. Or Trae Young is much better than Arron Holliday? You don’t trade down that far in the Nbadraft. This isn’t the NFL. For the most part the best talent is at the top

I see Ayton's potential but he just doesn't seem to want it...

If he has the fire to work he is a sure fire NBA all-Star but the way he let Arizona lose games this year by not showing up just makes me question that fire.

And the only way you trade the pick if you get a first rounder next year and this year.

Interesting that they pushed Porter down to 9. Parrish mentioned on his show yesterday that Porter does not have to release his medical report to teams. So if he doesn't want to go to the Grizzlies he just won't give a medical report.
