David Hogg Announced a New Boycott Last Week
Quote:On Twitter, Hogg said investments giants BlackRock and Vanguard are some of the biggest investors in the gun industry and urged his followers to boycott them.

The last time he tweeted about the boycott was April 19, as it was to thank a Twitter user for telling his “financial adviser to avoid all funds that invest in weapons of war for the consumer market, and did so long ago.”

Since then, he hasn't tweeted about the boycott, and there might be a good reason for it: because it went nowhere.

TheWrap reports insiders from the trillion-dollar investment groups have not reported any changes in their clients since Hogg announced the boycott.

“No high-profile clients that I can think of left BlackRock as a result of it,” a BlackRock employee told TheWrap. “It's definitely not water-cooler talk.”

A Vanguard employee told TheWrap the company's financial situation “remains kind of the same as what it has been in previous months.”

If you don't already use Vanguard for your investment needs, I'd highly recommend them. $0 fees on Vanguard ETFs, and their target date retirement funds are no brainers. They re-balance everything for you as you age at just a ~0.10% expense ratio!
