RE: Jerry Kill assumes responsibility for SIU athletics
SIU had a recent incident last month where their message board (which consisted of some employees) tried an orchestrated coup to fire the coach. The AD was on their side. Their board had a 600 page thread to fire the coach and celebrate its inevitability because “sources”. It flopped.

The coach was retained and the whole board imploded. Employees who were posters on their board leaked information. Their identities were also known by other posters and were subsequently doxxed and reported to SIU. The Chancellor then investigated some employees and a few people lost their jobs. Their board shut down entirely.

Their AD released a newsletter last month publicly putting Hinson’s feet to the fire, after losing his battle behind closed doors.

Hey! That’s Tommy Bell. Spent a good amount of time in our athletic department. A little fuzzy—was it with Cary Groth???

Hinson was never going to get fired after finishing second in the Valley, and after losing Thik Bol who was probably the best center in the conference sans Krutweg. That would be insane.

Not to mention SIU was 8-23 and tinkering on probation when he took over. Their fan base is literally insane lol

They were down a couple scholarships because of academics iirc. Lowery left a dumpster fire and Hinson at least has them back on the highway.
