No blue wave

"...Republicans have a distinct national advantage going into this election. As Mother Jones reported in March, “A new report from the Brennan Center for Justice calculates just how much of a landslide Democrats will need in order to win in districts that were drawn specifically to withstand Democratic waves and elect Republicans. The result, report co-author Michael Li says, should be a ‘reality check’ for Democrats.” To win the House, the Democrats would have to win the popular vote by 11 points, according to this left-leaning organization.
Is that possible? Yes. Probably? No."

RE: No blue wave
More of the disconnect between the national average and the importance of where the votes are counted.
A great number of regular folks in states not on the coast are just fine with what is happening.
California/New York's wild distress does not constitute an emergency for the folks of most other states.

RE: No blue wave
I haven't followed the issue closely enough to make any grand predictions about the mid-terms other than to say that the party out of power usually makes signfiicant gains. As I've said elsewhere, if the winners move more towards the center, that's not necessairly a bad thing.
One thing to keep in mind though is that during his 8 year reign, the Magic Man crippled dims at virtually all levels in state houses around the country. I forget the number of dim losses, but it was staggering. That ain't gonna help as they try to reclaim lost ground in the mid-terms.
