Ending one and done
NCAA wants to end it. Waiting on the NBA to approve it.

If the NBA won't play then the NCAA should mandate a ridiculous fine for players that leave after one year. Like $10 million dollars.

If players had an obligatory year of freshman ball before getting elevated to the varsity, this issue would take care of itself. It worked just fine back in the day. And to hell with the NBA.

I have no problem with players leaving after one year. But I do have a problem with players that have no interest in going to college feeling like they have to go there for one year because they aren't draft eligible yet.

Intuitively it doesn't make sense to me that one cannot choose to pursue a career in FB or BB whenever they want.

The simple solution is to make basketball scholarships a minimum of 2 years for both parties. Players can skip college, leave after their sophomore season, junior season, or senior season. In football, players can skip college, leave after their junior season or senior season.

What will Calipari do? Their budgets are set for only one year of payments.

If they are like Louisville they can slide some prostitute funds to regular payment to recruit funds.
