He wasn't fired because he lacked class and couldn't mentor. He was let go because he refused to do the job in a way the job required success. He wanted to do it his way when the job required something different. Plus Tubby consistently emphasized what the program couldn't do...how about what they could do. And he didn't communicate a vision, didn't offer hope...etc. etc.

I think it is telling that he didn't take his staff from Memphis with him. Does that mean that they were not getting the job done and Tubby needed to start fresh or that they didn't want to take a pay cut?
