those that went to the polls with a different opinion voiced their right to vote as they choose and people on the left took the quietness to mean something different. When they should have been paying closer attention to the number of people at events for Hillary and Trump.

This is true. I don't think it's worth it to have a public political opinion. I've caught it from both sides. If only the people in Trump country knew that I dislike democratic illiberalism as much as they do.

How do we solve this? I don't know. Tribalism is horrible and both sides are pretty trash at being decent to each other.
