Just when you thought the China Doll kids couldn't be anymore wussified, hiking has now been deemed "too risky".

How long before the snowflake generation starts wearing bubble wrap?

Now, now, now. Isn't the issue related to the payment of school funds for such activities? BTW, in addition to engaging in activities that might be risky (like Scuba diving - TWO of my fraternity brothers died in SCUBA accidents btw) and that the school doesn't have the bandwidth to monitor, these tend to be really expensive activities too.

If I'm a school administrator, I wouldn't fund bungee jumping with student activities fees either.

Its not like anyone is banning the kids from doing these activities either. Or promoting them. It appears as if the school is simply saying...nah, we're not paying for it.

Your entire reply is personal speculation. Nothing in the known story indicates any financial hardship.

BTW, the school is committed to helping the groups stay on campus and continue their activities. My guess is there will need to be some on-campus/off-campus division of activities. http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-nw...story.html
