Serious question...why does that matter? Are you saying that the socialization on Tiger Lane justifies the “discounted” prices?

Not exactly. What I'm saying is, for YEARS the Highland Hundred was the driving force behind the football team's survival, in great part due to tailgating. Tailgating transformed the purpose of attendance. When I learned that there was this whole dynamic of the "event" out in the parking lot, it made me attend games that I otherwise would not have. It literally instilled loyalty in me and a lot of others that was not there before.

That aspect is just not there for basketball. You go, you don't go... it's all centered around the game itself. If you ask me, The Highland Hundred has a yuge ownership stake in the product we now know as Tiger Football. I think some consideration for that is due them.

Basketball's subsidy of football "was the driving force behind the football team's survival". It's ludicrous to think tailgating had anything to do with it.
Definitely Penny Lane

I hate to see this divide in our fan base. I wish that some of our fans would quit being huge cheapskates and I wish some of the HH old guard would quit acting so entitled. Some of them are acting like millenials.

Considering two posters have over half of the 201 total posts in this thread I'm not sure I'd call it our fan base that's divided. More like a couple of posters stirring the pot here.

Actually it’s more like:

When did this start?
Why is HH get priority and not paying TSF donation that comparable TL spots require?
Why is our AD negotiationing with a booster group over premium tailgating parking that belongs to the University?
Why does a booster group whose mission is to raise money for the University actually costing FB program money by taking advantage of this one sided agreement?

I don’t think of those who have an opinion that few favor HH getting this sweetheart deal in the face of economic problems at our athletic programs other than some HH members. .

It almost seems like you have something against the Highland Hundred.

Did the a Highland Hundred officer steal your lunch money in grade school or have an affair with your Woman?

I’ll respond despite your juvenile BS remarks. No. I respect HH and the time they spend to promote Tiger Footbsll and the fundraising they do. I feel the same way about the Rebounders.

However, I don’t think either booster group is entitled to Tiger Lane lots any more than the Rebounders would be entitled to Forum parking garage spots. These are premium parking/tailgating spots (in the case of TL) and basicasically go to the highest bidder. The athletic department has botched this up from day one.

Yeah, I got that the first time. And the second, third and fourth. After a while it sounds like you are obsessed with the HH...

-18 Rep points? That shows your priorities may be out of whack for a Tiger Fan forum. GTH.

Y'all need to chill. This is the reason why we have so few posters on here now.

Stop attacking and learn to embrace each other.

So true. It’s the slow season for sure when a argument over parking spaces drags on and on. Geez, it’s just not that important.

They ARE just parking spaces.... but they are $3000 parking spaces. I'd say that's important.
