Sure they can - it's an unexcused absence and most schools have consequences for that. But if the district allows political speech (walkout) to one group of students it IS their fault if they deny different political speech to another (wearing a tshirt). The district can't pick and choose the political speech it wishes to allow.

What was your school’s punishment for an unexcused absence? At mine it was just 1 of 8 allowed. We also don’t know anything about this district’s policy toward the walkout.

i think these kids should walk out everyday, maybe take a year off even. Give the real students a break from them
