English League
Are there any English Football fans out here? Recently was informed by my English and Scot friends on how the leagues work and had the “watching football in a pub” experience that really got me into it.
Team I’m gonna follow the most is Southampton. Looks like they’re going to relegated to 2nd League though.

Ha! I was heavily exposed to it last year working with a customer from Germany, and most of my team was in the UK.
I just can't do it! It's SOCCER!

Southampton got a big win at Swansea City. The season ends tomorrow with every game at 10:00 A.M. our time. Southampton host champion Manchester City and Swansea City host last place Stoke City. If Swansea City wins, Southampton loses, and the combined margin is at least 10, Swansea City will survive and Southampton will be relegated. Otherwise Southampton will survive and Swansea City will be relegated.

Yep. It’s a tall order with a match vs the champions and Swansea playing Stoke. We’ll see what happens...

RE: English League
Biggest realistic fight is for the final Champions League spot. Liverpool wins at home versus Brighton, they are in. Liverpool loses and Chelsea wins at Newcastle, Chelsea moves to Champions League. Liverpool ties and Chelsea wins by 16 (ain't gonna happen), Chelsea advances - otherwise it's Liverpool. Team that doesn't advance to Champions League is in Europa League next year.

RE: English League
Liverpool can also make the Champions League by beating Real Madrid in the Champions League Final on May 26.
In 2018-2019, Burnley will be in the Europa League for their first European competition since 1966-1967.

Yep with the Champions League win. If they do that and Chelsea qualifies through the standings process, EPL will get 5 teams in the Champions League next year instead of 4. France could get an extra team too if Marseille beats Atletico in the Europa League final and Marseille does not qualify through standings.

RE: English League
Liverpool won and qualified. It's the third consecutive season the defending champion, Chelsea this time, did not finish in the Top 4. Swansea City lost and were relegated. Manchester City scored the only goal of the game with seconds left to reach 100 points. They had the best Premier League season ever and won the title by 19 points, which is 0.5 per game, over Manchester United.
In game 37 of 38 in Spain, Levante led 5-1 and held on to beat Barcelona 5-4. Barcelona was trying to have an undefeated season.

RE: English League
About one-third of the 2018-2019 games have been played at 13 out of 38. Leaders Manchester City with 35 points and second place Liverpool with 33 are undefeated. Sunday has rivalry games with fifth place Arsenal hosting third place Tottenham and Liverpool hosting sixth place Everton. Newly promoted Wolverhampton had a good start, but is down to 11th after getting 1 point from their last 5 games. Manchester United, who I like, is seventh with a -1 goal differential. They played a scoreless draw hosting 16th place Crystal Palace and followed that with a stoppage time goal to beat Young Boys 1-0 to clinch a spot in the Champions League Round of 16. AFC Bournemouth, whose Vitality Stadium only holds 11,360, is in eighth. NBC Sports Network made a documentary about their owner putting a lot of his own money in to save the club from being liquidated and going into their last game of a season in danger of being relegated out of the League Two. League Two is the fourth level and the bottom level of the Football League. AFC Bournemouth got promoted three times and are in their fourth season in the Premier League. After finishing 16th as a newly promoted club, they improved to ninth in 2016-2017 and were 12th in 2017-2018. The bottom five all of 8 or 9 points, with goal differential being the tiebreaker. 19th place Cardiff City and 20th place Fulham are newly promoted. Cardiff City was relegated the last time they were newly promoted, while Fulham was in the Premier League a while before their most recent relegation. Burnley, who finished seventh last season and played in the Europa League Qualifying Rounds, is struggling in 17th.
