Stop

Hey, Let’s argue the facts.

Okay.

Todd McInnis was one of the best starting pitchers in the school's history. He was a Friday stalwart for multiple seasons.

Cody Carroll has been booted from a starting gig at least three times in his career and has generally underachieved. And he still isn't a starting pitcher.

I'm sure Cody is a good kid and everything but no point in making silly comparisons.

http://goblueraiders.com/news/2018/4/19/...-miss.aspx

The Blue Raiders have struggled against the Golden Eagles in recent history, failing to win a game in each of the last three seasons. However, MT head coach Jim McGuire knows that this is a new year and anything can happen.

As impressive as the bats are for the Golden Eagles, their pitching staff might be even better. Southern Miss currently has four players who have logged at least 18 innings on the mound and have a 2.08 ERA or better.

However, Middle Tennessee's ace, Jake Wyrick, has shown he can matchup with any Friday night starter in the league.

In last Friday's game against Rice, Wyrick tossed six innings, while only allowing one earned run against the Owls. Wyrick's ERA has fallen to an impressive 2.95 in his eight starts for MT.

The Blue Raiders will also welcome back Ryan Kemp and Drew Huff who will both be available for the first conference game since the Blue Raiders traveled to Old Dominion.

Projected Starting Pitcher:
LHP Jake Wyrick
RHP Carson Lester
TBA

So 4 straight season sweeps now of MT.
Overall that’s 24 weekend series wins (OOC and CUSA combined) out of the last 25 dating back to the final 2 weekends of the 2015 season.

He’s baaaaack. We’re talking about Golden Eagles junior righthander Nick Sandlin, of course. Sandlin missed his start last week because of shoulder soreness, but was back on the mound in the series finale against Middle Tennessee. USM began the day in solid fashion with an 11-2 win over the Blue Raiders. As for Sandlin, he was outstanding against the Raiders, sitting 90-93 and up to 94 mph with his fastball, while also striking out 12, not walking anyone and allowing one hit in five shutout innings. In addition to getting Sandlin back on the mound, USM’s RPI continues to go up, too.

that was one of his best Maddux Jr. performances.......he made MT look foolish at the plate other than their pygmy clean-up batter....

12 SO in 73 pitches......that's pretty sporty....

all he does is throw strikes on all the corners....he's fun to watch....
