I believe he took an unofficial to Memphis last fall.
His stock is rising significantly. Sounds like he could be a top 75 prospect before the end of the summer.

I think you are right. 24/7 has him #89 on the list they updated last week.
Per 247 - appears he continues to impress on Under Armour circuit:
Jaykwon Walton, CG, Team Thad – There might not be a positional classification for Walton, but the reality is he can play virtually anywhere on the court. With plus athleticism, good size and very long arms, Walton is someone who does basically everything on the court. He rebounds, he makes shots from deep, he makes others better, and he will defend as well. What is scary is Walton is good now, but is only scratching the surface of how good he can become.

Jaykwon Walton - Team Thad 4* Wing, #125 Rivals '19
“I'm told 2019 Team Thad G Jaykwon Walton, a 4 star recruit out of Alabama, took an unofficial visit to Memphis today ahead of this weekend's Memphis in May Invitational AAU event. Walton recently got a Memphis offer.”
Quote:A first-team Class 6A all-state selection, Walton, a junior, averaged 17 points in leading the Wolverines to a state championship this season. While Alabama and Auburn are high on Walton’s list, Memphis appears to be rising on it for several reasons.
Walton’s playing for an AAU team based out of Memphis, respects Hardaway’s analysis of him and wants to play in NBA like Hardaway did for 14 years.
While he remains undecided, the idea of playing for a former NBA All-Star with similar size and skill set who has his full attention gives Memphis more than a fighting chance to lure Walton out of the state to play college basketball.

Coach Penny is tied into how these young guys think, thanks to his AAU participation. Avery is not. Plus, he is short.

Maybe he see Penny as a similar player with the same skill set. Plus Penny didn't blow smoke at him. He told him the truth about his game and he appreciated the honesty.
Penny wasn't just a player in the NBA...he was a star. That resonates more than getting a cup of coffee in the league.

I would not consider 12+ years in the NBA, playing a significant role on an NBA title team and having your jersey retired by an NBA team as just having a cup of coffee in the league...
