Derrick Rose explosive? I don't think so. He played fairly well but explosive? No. Nor do I think NBA executives are just drooling to sign him up based upon one short playoff series but I guess we will see. I doubt he gets anything other than a very modest one year deal anywhere.

Agree with you, my point in the original post was that he had played himself back into the league. Not that he was back to being his old dominate self. After he got cut from the Jazz, this year was such a disaster that I think there was real doubt that there would be any interest in him at all.

But then Thibs came in and rescued him, and then he had a really solid playoff series, outplaying the TWolves starting PG by a large margin.

So, I think it's clear that there will be interest in him next year, even scrubs make big bucks in today's NBA.

At worst, he would get what Tyreke and Rondo got last year, 1 year 3.3 million.

Google NBA salaries and come back and look at guys getting 1 year 3.3M. it won't be Rose. He was hurt and negotiating last year. Former Grizz player Vasquez making $4.4M along with Bender of Suns. There was new cap put in place before last years contracts. If you are trying to say players are as good as their contract, you are dead wrong: Tarik Black making $6M a year (plays 2 minutes of Houston's last playoff series-possibly worst contract in NBA) and Rodney Hood making $1.1M. A lot of variables in contracts and you keep bring up one Rose had to negotiate hurt with NO leverage. He has leverage and his salary will be closer to Black's than Tyreke's this year.
