Spring Game
Please post any stats or assessments if you plan on attending. We couldn't make it this year and I am very curious to see how the team looks.

RE: Spring Game
Howard by far best QB TODAY.....The Cuban Missile and Hankins looked better than Abraham, so we're back to square one...

Anderson will be a BEAST at RB, Payne looks healthy and T'Rod looked good...

Most JC guys looked good and not a wasted schollie like so many times..

Thanks. Was Howard or Abraham playing with the starters? I am also excited about Anderson. We have never had a RB that big.

Starters were split between black and gold.....Howard moved Gold team much better than Abraham moved the Black..

Looks like our WR's are gonna be better than we thought (especially DeMichael Harris)....maybe RB's too.

Still worried about QB situation (of course!), and who the heck wins out is definitely waaaaay up in the air right now..

RE: Spring Game
It seemed like game was getting called and whistle was being blown in a way that made Howard look like a much better QB than the others. Many times defenders got closer to Howard than they did Abraham and Hopson held up on blowing the play dead.

That is scary because he's terrible at playing quarterback.

It was the refs who were blowing the plays dead for "sacks".

I agree though, they called the play dead many times during the first half that wouldn't have been sacks in a game. It was starting to become annoying.

RE: Spring Game
Outside of the QB play, how did we look?
Were we better than you expected? Worse?

Which newcomers stood out the most?

Thanks in advance.

Steven Anderson, who was moved to RB, has been described as being very Derrick Nixish this spring.

That's why I said, "has been described." I definitely didn't make the comparison and added the ish. Anderson is a 6'2" 240 lb violent runner who can drag defenders. Derrick Nix was a blue chip prospect who would have most likely been an early round NFL draft pick with some successful seasons if he hadn't contracted kidney disease. Big difference.

The comparison was made by Munz,

"What makes Anderson such a buzzworthy figure is the skill he brings to the running back spot. The Golden Eagles have not had a player with the combination of size and ability that he brings to the table since, well, Derrick Nix. But even “Baby Bull” – at 6-2, 225 - wasn’t as big as Anderson."
