RE: FAU Game 2
Moss has deserved SO much more this year than what our bullpen has given him. It’s truly sad how terrible we are from the 6th inning on...

RE: FAU Game 2
Kravetz' 2-1 pitch looked good from the centerfield camera ... must have been just outside, as it was called a ball.

His next pitch to the left-handed FAU batter was near the middle of the zone ... but not for long. Sigh.

"It is well out of here. A monster home run over the netting in right field."

5-3, FAU. 1 out.

Silber coming in to pitch.

Seems like no lead is safe with the Rice bullpen. Will have to win in a walkoff.

Or maybe we let the bullpen start the games and bring out n the starters for the lSt 6 innings?

RE: FAU Game 2
I still think, at this level, no worse than your third best pitcher needs to be your closer. Not sure who that is on this team, but pretty obviously not the ones we have doing it.

You simply can't afford to be where we have been after seven so may times this year, and then blow it repeatedly in the 8th and 9th.

ETA: Looking at stats, we've actually outscored our opponents in the 8th, but we've been outscored 25-9 in the 9th and extras. That's how you snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

How's that sac bunt strategy working out? Can't give away outs when your bullpen has the stopping power of wet toilet paper.

RE: FAU Game 2
B9:

Cruz pulls 2-0 pitch sharply into the right-side hole ... but the FAU 2nd baseman is playing there. 4-3 groundout.

Sarchet patiently watches three balls ... then two called strikes ... then lashes the 3-2 pitch into right field for a single. Yay!

Comeaux watches a looping low pitch; big swing fouls back the next pitch; bunt for a hit laid down the 3B line, but rolls foul; Comeaux hits the next pitch -- chopped in front of the plate -- to the right side, fielded on a very high hop by the 1st baseman who backed up to get it and apparently felt he was too far away to make the out unassisted ... he waits for the pitcher to cover, his throw is a little behind him ... and Comeaux's head-first slide beats the pitcher's foot!! SAFE! WooHoo!

FAU coach disagrees and comes out to discuss the call with the up.

Collins wiffs on 1-2 pitch that dove low at the end. 2 out.

Jeffries: low-outside; called strike; off-speed called a ball, inside; ball-outside; nearly in the dirt. Ball 4!! Yay. Bases loaded.

Gneiting grounds out to first for the third out in B9. Leaving bases loaded.
5-3. FAU is your final.

B9, cont'd:

Gneiting: ball-low; bouncer to 1B. Unassisted. Game over.

Sigh.

FAU wins, 5-3 ... we leave the bases loaded.

FAU lost their series to SMiss a month ago. At home.
I’d love to watch those two teams in the CUSA Tournament.
FAU looks pretty solid

Rice leaves the bases loaded in the B9 and loses another come from behind game, 5-3.
This is why I've stopped attending the games. Too depressing and lonely in Section B. Frankly, not worth the $5 parking fee.

Something has to change. How many people were in attendance? 100? Less? Literally zero interest outside of this message board.

How many cusa series can Rice win this year? This is a horrific fall off from last years mediocre season.

The parking fee guy has to be getting pretty bored at this juncture.

And we still have people on this board that send letters asking for extensions. I have a feeling next season might be just as bad for men’s sports as this year.

Hard to believe that a few short years ago FAU was a directional U from the Sunbelt.

Now were looking up to them. 03-banghead

I’d like to see the number of season ticket holders that just don’t show up. It has to be an overwhelming majority.

Sad times.
