The only confirmed attack of sarin gas was April and this one. The others were Chlorine and the redline was sarin because no one is going to war or make strikes on a Chlorine attack that is harder to prove and a lot less deadly. But it is a gas so I will give you that. Now....

going by your dots there's only 11 in 2017/18 with 1 of those on Jan 8th (another jan 30th) so 1 out of 11 belong to President Obama...6 others in Dec of 2016.

Never said they did. When you strike with one hand behind your back (kill no Russians, dont hurt innocent civilians, and dont escalate the war) your simply attempting to do the best you can to reduce the chemical weapons capability with the target list available.

Not according to the article you linked (that he kept it in check) from quotes from a significant number of reputable international sources.

and like MOST situations, people eventually get fed up/go too far. Perhaps you're one of those 'zero tolerance' people who would have bombed them the first time they did ANYTHING, and that's okay as an opinion, but easily troublesome as a policy. Still, it seems that taking ANY action is better than ignoring it as Obama seems to have.

If you think Trump did it to deflect attention from what's going on domestically, that doesn't really jibe with his constant tweet wars that bring attention to it. If you think he should have done it sooner, that doesn't really jibe with not having Obama do it.

Second, I'll admit that such things are at least debatable, but the idea that the use of chemical weapons anywhere in the world is a threat to us is fairly commonly held (though you're free to disagree) but certainly the use of the military to conduct military operations (and dropping bombs IS a military operation) IS a function of the Department of Defense (Of the US, meaning for these purposes 'common').

Replacing water pipes in Flynt isn't a function of the DOD, nor is it 'common'... unless you're suggesting they do it everywhere.

You say I'm bad at this, but you agree that common defense is a charge and since you didn't say otherwise, that Flynt isn't a charge.

All you're disagreeing with is the use of military force against users of chemical weapons in the world is 'defense' of the US, but you don't explain your leap of turning Flynt water pipes into a common defense.

Because it’s a gigantic waste of money for nothing. Absolutely nothing. The money would have been better spent here improving infrastructure. Yes the federal govt can give out grants to improve infrastructure. Happens every day.
