FIRE UP CHIPS! :)

Now that Dan has passed away why do you come and offer your thoughts on this site?

Probably because he knows he won’t get slapped around as was the custom when Dan was present

Oh please, I returned to posting on the csnbbs boards back on Feb. 14 because I got tired of the embedded ads on the 247 message boards.

FIRE UP CHIPS! :)

Oh please? Are you the Ken Barna of CMU fandom?

Way back on Valentines day you began? How lovely.

How 'bout the previous decade? Unless under another user name?

You were nothing but grief for Dan and others. Stay up north and spit your tobacco in Mt. Pee. We don't need your kind around.

LOL! At least you have a sense of humor! Safe travels coming up north this fall. You boys better pack a lunch!

FIRE UP CHIPS! :)

Georgia State is expected to be in the bottom tier of the Sun Belt (and #104 in Orlando Sentinel countdown, fwiw).

Ohio is a likely frontrunner for the MAC East title, with Athlon's tagging them as MAC champs.

RE: 2018-19 Predictions
If we're healthy I would be fairly confident of beating Ohio at home.

Right now I'm more concerned about at Miami Game 5.

RE: 2018-19 Predictions
Originally I predicted a 6 - 6 season. My revised prediction is still 6-6. The six teams we beat are going to be pretty terrible when all is said and done.

The swing game here is Ohio. We are due for one to bounce our way.

I have a hard time seeing back to back road wins at GSU and Miami.

If we do, then we can go on a run and still end up 9-3 or so, and go to Detroit. That Miami game is a big key, but you have to win the next two to feel confident heading in.

You never know. Sometimes it just takes a couple games for the offense to click. I'm hoping to god that we take care of business against D st and GSU. Beating Miami on the road would bring a lot more optimism back.

I'm not too concerned about our offense. Just worried about the pressure of them having to score in mega-bunches to outpace our opponents' scoring.

What is it about this team which makes you think we won't be an 8 or 9 win team? Is it player talent, coaching, the incredible high level of the MAC competition we will be facing from this point forward, or something else?

I'll stick with 8-5. Could be 8-4 regular season or 7-5 and a bowl win. We have a good team but a scary defense as in not sure how they will perform from week to week.

I still think this is an 8-4 team

EMU, Toledo and Ohio will be tough games. I think they can win the rest. Maybe drop one of the others and beat one of these three

- Recent history/last years performance
- Long running history of program
- Coaching staff is unproven/my personal lack of confidence in them
- Defense inability to stop a good running team
- Remaining schedule - history against Toledo and NIU
- Our history of losing games late in the season that we should win

I tend to agree w/ this. I just don't see all that much improvement from last year. I don't think this team will win 9 or even 8 games. Probably around 6 or 7. Just seems like this team is very middle of the road. Hoping for consistent success with this program not a magical season once every 100 years. This may not happen in KB's tenure.
