Here's to a good game this weekend. I know your team has really gone through a lot of adversity and injuries this year, but I expect a strong showing from your team anyway.

Serious question, did Kruzek (sp?) leave the cupboards bare or has the team not bought into GOL's coaching scheme? I am surprised by all the defections on your team this year, and the injuries don't help.

As our coach said "Sometimes you gotta tear it down to build it up again." Good luck this weekend.

GO HUSKIES!!!

Thanks. I guess you never know what'll happen.

Mike Kruczek made the mistake of relying too heavily on JUCO recruits for a "quick fix." He's not the only head coach in the country who made this mistake, though . . . I suspect that one of the reasons Kansas State is struggling now, for example, is their overreliance on JUCOs. A JUCO transfer already has college football experience, which can be a plus. However, you only get him for a year or two, and, as we've found out, there are JUCO guys who don't get the job in the classroom or run into other off-the-field problems.

In his defense, Kruczek de-emphasized signing JUCOs in his 2003 recruiting class. Unfortunately, he really did not develop enough high school recruits to maintain depth at key positions. George O'Leary is changing things for the better, but it's going to take a couple of years. My guess is that we will be a better team in our first year of C-USA ball, but we may have to deal with one more losing season before things start to look way up.

I heard that Haldi is back at quarterback for you guys now? Bet you all are glad to have him back.

Looking forward to being at the Citrus Bowl this weekend!
