Looking like they're honing in on Jamal, Coleman, Nolan Bertain, and Kwan Fore at the moment.

UAB, Wofford, Nevada & Auburn are the most recent programs to become involved with Memphis transfer Jamal Johnson. Former top-150 prospect from the 2017 class

Wouldn't Johnson or Coleman or some of these others have to sit out a season or are they benefitters of coaching changes and/or graduate transfer?

Johnson would have to sit. Coleman is a grad transfer with one year left.

RE: New BB Commit
Justin Coleman is set to visit SMU tomorrow through Saturday. He has already taken visits to St. Louis & Texas Southern. Ohio State appears to be out for now.
Bertain would be eligible immediately and have 3 years left to play. Watch his film - he’s a 3 point specialist and is pretty athletic. Good size (6’4” 185). The best thing about him, in my opinion, is he should be willing to accept a bench role, which would have been tough to convince Nate Darling to do. I’d be happy if he’s our 8th or 9th guy and provides 3s/scoring off the bench. WKU and Idaho flew out to see him on Monday. No offers from them, yet. I think he fills a need on our current roster. We lost a lot of 3 point shooting and it would be nice to have his 45%+ 3 point arsenal available.
Khwan Fore is really interesting and I’d love for us to get him. He’s a defensive minded player. Doesn’t have a jump shot but is very good at driving to the basket. He would definitely, IMO, fit the style of play Ehsan wants to go with next year.
So my fingers are crossed that we get either Justin Coleman or Khwan Fore, Bertain, and Jamal Johnson. If we get Coleman, he’s our starting PG. if we land Fore, Scootie is our starting PG and Fore plays off the ball IMO.

I have personally not heard that we were ever involved in his recruitment. He is likely to go P5. Visited NC State this past weekend and has visits set up to Wisconsin and Oklahoma State.

Can he play basketball? Thaddeus Rideau's shot was simply beautiful, right out of a shooting clinic video. If there hadn't been any defenders, he could have scored 90 a game.

I haven’t brought him up because I have doubts his UAB “offer” is legitimate. I could be wrong.

All of this is right on. Scootie is definitely capable of being our main ball handler but he'd be better utilized off the ball. A back court of Scootie, Coleman, Lovan, and Boyce would be really really good.

I forgot to mention Tyreek Scott Grayson. 6’6” SF from State Fair CC. Milwaukee offered yesterday and UAB has as well. Would have 3 years of eligibility remaining if we get him.

OK. Can he play basketball well, outside of shooting threes?
