RE: New BB Commit
I like what I see in the video, though the defenses he was playing against were less than stellar. (*I originally heard he would be coming in as a sophomore, and was excited about him having three years of eligibility with us, but apparently that's not true...so I edited the post here so as not to confuse anyone.)

I am concerned, as some have mentioned above, that there weren't better schools after him. I know sometimes you get someone under the radar (like Cokley, and to some degree even Scootie), but you usually get a pretty idea what kind of recruit a player is by who else is after him. But that's not always the case with a juco player.

Look forward to seeing him play, probably not fair to him to expect him to replace Cokely right off the bat though. Cokely was an all-time great for us, and its very rare to replace an all time great the next year.

Unlike a lot of you, I'm going to wait until he plays a while as a Blazer, before I decide if he is a good recruit.

Thanks for the correction. The first article I read about him said he would have three years of eligibility left. I will edit my above post so as not to confuse anyone else.

I edited the article. I missed that he played two JUCO seasons.

RE: New BB Commit
Right now the lone junior. I find this weird I must say.

Like that most of the recruits signed or commited are college ready somewhat, physically.

It’s weird for sure, but i think Ehsan burnt the thing down and is trying to see what he can do with what he brings in now. It may be a terrible choice, but i feel it’s safe to say we weren’t a top four team with Norton and Darling as two of our starters.

Pretty sure the ball is in Scotties hands for the next 3 years and looking for players to keep up with him.

All for it glad he's using his guys. People thought I was crazy when I said I would make Darling,Norton, and Sullivan 11-13th guys on the roster. Wouldn't shock me if Sullivan is the fifth big. Need 1 or 2 impact guards and I'll try to watch this frontcourt. May be time we hand the PG spot to Bryant and make him lead guard (because he's not a point yet). Something that worked great with Chad Frazier.

Yep. Boyce is probably the least far along as far as muscle. But he's also 6-6 with a 6-10 wing span so his upside is ridiculous.

What do you mean?

hadnt been excited that he was the only big we were after, and the competition we were recruiting against to get him. Will add initially I read some wrong stats on him. Til I read 13 and 6 a few weeks ago, I realized they hadn’t updated stats from last season til then. That’s about as good as we can expect to find this late. I think he’s ranked as top 30 juco player.

Others:
38 Rashawn Fredericks (UAB offer)
53 Javien Williams (ex-UAB player)
57 Darnell Cowart (UAB interest, not sure about offer)
61 Antonio Williams (UAB offer)
71 Matthew Horton (WKU signee from Tuscaloosa)
76 Keandre Cook (UAB offer)
79 Melkisedek Moreaux (UAB interest, not sure about offer)
99 Derek St Hilaire (UAB offer)

Antonio Williams to Kent State
Keandre Cook to Missouri State.
