Next year may be a half step back but then the following year it should be full throttle again.
Umm....what? We lose 9 seniors total from this team. Next year may be the best team we've ever had.
I agree with this comment. Next year should be a banner year.

Ok, let me clarify.
The season we are about to play may be a half step back from last year.
The following year should be 'full throttle' meaning really, really good.

Hard to know anything from a spring game. Did the RBs play much? They will be a heavy part of the offense when the season starts, but I doubt we went full throttle for what amounts to little more than an exhibition. No reason to risk injury.

No predictions matter until, we know if we have a quarterback to step up.

Hmmm. I go with our home town Anthony Miller. Born here, raised here, played here, and was a walk on. His stats are 238 receptions, and 40 total TDs although 3 of those were rushing with 3590 receiving yards.
Isaac Bruce had great stats but 113 receptions, 15 TDs with 1586 receiving yards. Just sayin"

Bruce was a Juco transfer, No? He did it in 2 years. Both had very good QB's throwing to them.

Football was different back then too. It’s more of a passing oriented game now

Then deduct 5 TDs and 700 yards (2015 season) receiving from the total and you get 35 TDs and 2900 yards receiving for Miller's 2016 and 2017 season. About double Isaac's total I would surmise. And Isaac was spectacular. And as far as the NFL, Miller is fixing to light them up. He will be an instant impact player. Miller is the type of receiver that makes a good QB a great QB, a defense's worst nightmare.

Bruce was very good. He would have killed it with the system we run today. Both are great players. Statistical analysis doesn’t tell the full story, as evidenced by Isaac’s solid career in the NFL.

I'm giving Ike the nod on his stellar nfl career, now if Anthony breaks those stats, hands down he the best ever
I was told a Dude named Preston Riley wasn't to bad as a receiver, but the Coach was 3 yds and a cloud of dust

The best in program history. I did not know it included the NFL. I was under the impression it was college program history. Guess it doesn't matter that in the same 2 year period (Jr, & Sr years) Miller doubled Bruce's numbers. But you can nod to whomever you want.

+2 Have to agree. Miller is the best reciever the Tigers have had.

That is totally NON FACTUAL! Don’t like comparing Tigers for ranking them but Bruce at one time was the all time NFL yards leader. Best hands in NFL history. Very long career and was tough as nails-very few injuries. Has a Super Bowl ring. Will be in the HOF. If you are comparing college yardage numbers, Bruce played under 4 yards and a cloud of dust Stobart. Anthony has yet to even make a team yet.

We had probably the best QB the program has ever seen and if not the best WR, the 2nd best, and we lose them both.
The QB in college football is an absolute difference maker, more so than in the NFL even. A guy who hits open receivers on the run and squeezes balls into tight spaces is rare in college, and Ferguson was outstanding at that.
If the new QB is 80% as good as Ferguson, I'll be happy, but I don't expect it. I expect Coxie to take a big step up, but he won't be AM3.
There is little chance the offensive is close to as good as last year.
On the other hand, the defense will likely be improved. The secondary looks stout.

Well, I love watching Anthony play, but put Bruce in that offense, he might have had 150 catches and 2500 yards. Tremendous numbers under Stobart which is a great accomplishment.

Then the original question of who was the best receiver in Tiger history should have been who was the best receiver in Tiger history including their NFL career as well, then Bruce is the man. So far. But saying if Bruce had played with Ferguson his numbers might have been better, agree it is possible, but that is not subject in question. If the actual numbers of their respective careers were closer I would say there is a greater argument. But with numbers doubling a previous outstanding career? It's Miller Time.
