RE: Is this cause for worry for ASU?
For asu and ua-Fayetteville it is a big worry because they want to hide what they spend their money on. This will eventually be a big win for the public who wants to know how their money (tax dollars AND donations) are being spent. From today's article it seems asu has a bigger problem trying to argue for privacy because the foundation officers are paid by asu (the state) and the foundation gets offices rent free in a campus facility built with state tax dollars.

RE: Is this cause for worry for ASU?
Meh.
1. D-G is just continuing their argument against the Razorback Foundation by a chipping at AState, they can make their arguments without dealing with Hog blindness.
2. The Learfield deal is Learfield soliciting sponsorships, work that used to be done the Red Wolf Foundation. The D-G is trying to pretend that AState has diverted a revenue stream that used to go into the general budget into the RWF budget. That's what's known as a damn lie.
3. This whole thing is because the spoiled son of a local rich guy tried to get a contract to undermine the business of a local business owner he hates. The kid has vowed to never donate again but has lifetime giving to AState that is less than what I give every two years. His daddy who has given AState real money has also vowed to never give to AState again, but the truth of that is he made the same exact vow two years ago because AState wouldn't knock a qualified applicant out of an academic program and replace them with someone he had ties to who hadn't even qualified to be on the wait list. Really high quality people. The brother of the unsuccessful bidder took the whole thing to the paper because he is a big UA donor and wanted the D-G to go after AState the same way they go after the Razorback Foundation. When a Jonesboro resident runs to the D-G instead of the Jonesboro Sun that is a strong message about what audience they are playing to because the D-G sells very few papers in NEA.

Wish I had a choice to by a "Little Rock" paper in Little Rock.
