WTF? I've seen this comment here and elsewhere. The FBI can unilaterally decide if a leak is in their best interest and release damaging information on the target of an investigation? That stinks.

For a better understanding of what it means though, I suggest reading the IG's report on Lyin' Andy McCabe. In that report the IG lays out the circumstances whereby a "leak" or disclosure of an investigation is allowed.....one of the most important being the prospect that the public may be able to provide information valuable to the investigation.

Look at the IG report. It discusses when leaks are authorized by Rosenfetus or McCabe. But the very fact that there are instances where the FBI deems it beneficial to leak information, shows the overly politicized environment of today's agency
