Comcast dropping Big 10 Network out of market?
Reading the tweets from Brendan F Quinn it sounds like that is happening.

I hope SuddenLink do the exact same thing. We are not even in the Big 10 market either.

Wonder how many out of market viewers BTN has. I only watch whenever AState ends up playing on BTN which isn't very often.

This could be a wake up call for the P5 who owns a conference tv networks. The Big 10 will lose out of money which will deflate their tv value in a few years. I wonder how many cable providers refuse to take the ACC network? Could the SEC Network and Longhorn network lose out as well? Would the Big 10 go after Buffalo and Stony Brook to get back into the NYC market? They took a risk on Rutgers, but why not give those 2 schools a shot? Both schools have sports that are on the rise that could be better than Rutgers, especially in men's basketball.

How in the hell is Buffalo in the NYC market? They are arguably a flagship (though not legally), but look at their alumni. Their largest base is in Buffalo. NYC is not their TV market nor their local market. Stony Brook is an AAU school but they're two hours away by car or train compared to Rutgers which is only one hour and they're FCS. B1G is not picking up an FCS school.

Buffalo and Stony Brook? No. If this forced realignment then they’d go after Texas.

RE: Comcast dropping Big 10 Network out of market?
There is some confusion as to whether BTN is going to be dropped with B1G markets as well.

The following link on Reddit seems to be the source of this info.

What in the ever loving hell are you talking about? This is about out of market. NYC is most certainly in market. Buffalo? hahaha maybe for the Toronto market.

B1G should pick up the duo to cover both NYC (Stony Brook) and upstate (Buffalo).

Actually it's saying that Comcast is going to drop the BTN period. But that doesn't mean it won't be available. Other providers will be carrying it throughout the B1G footprint and beyond.

BTW: I watch the BTN a little bit each week during football season and less frequently during basketball season.

Guess they'll have to move a la carte or expand the digital BTN Plus platform.

I DESPISE conference tv networks with all my heart. I'm not picking on the B10 network.
I want the the worst for the SECN, PAC12N, ACCN and Bonghorn network as well....

Comcast left out NYC in their tweet about this. Or at least did earlier

BTN is ready to go to war against Communistcast.

And yes, I'm using Communist in an incorrect context, but I've used the term frequently through the years.

Fox owns the big 10 network...it makes sense to drop them in non big 10 markets especially being competitors.

No big deal here. The only time I have watched the BTN is when a local school plays at one of them.
