Well done S. Miss. You team could easily be better than ODU's next season. Your coach is doing a nice job in getting S. Miss. back to being relevant in basketball. I'm happy for you guys.

Yeah, I know it is easy to be impatient as a Charlotte fan, but Sadler had a hell of a rebuild project with what he inherited. He's done a pretty nice job IMO.

from the article:
All but one player (guard D’Angelo Richardson) from Southern Miss’ team that finished 16-18 last season is eligible to return. Doc Sadler told the Hattiesburg American he will have 12 players on scholarship by next season. Marshall’s signing gives him 14 scholarship players.
It will be interesting to see which players won't return

RE: USM basketball signs 4-star Forward
I realize that its only natural for the best teams in this conference to give USM a few kicks while we have floundered around these last 4 years. However, before we went belly up, USM had 5 straight 20 win seasons with 3 season of 25 and one 29-5 season and a championship. WKU, Marshall, ODU, MTSU,UNT,UTSA, and Charlotte are teams that can help build this conference back and IMHO take it higher than the last two versions of CUSA.
I don't want to get too far ahead of myself but USM is going to be a hard out if this team comes together next year. We will be adding a 6'9" 250 post player with serious inside physical presence to go along with 3 6'7" athletic wings ( Ladarius Marshall 6' 7" 215 47 inch vertical, Nickoli Jerotic Serbian 6'7" G/SF, and Lenord Baker Harper 6'7" SF. With our guard play, we could make some noise for the first time in last 6 years.
As for basketball attendance, believe me we will have the Dungeon rocking again if we start winning. We could build some very nice rivals in this conference in basketball with a little time and some consistency.
Just my 2 cents.

That would really disappoint some of the Doc haters on the message boards. I notice not a single one of them has said anything at all, much less positive, about his recruiting...

Have we ever gotten a 4-star recruit before?

He looks like he is raw with a lot of potential. Trying to find out more about him, which service has him as a 4 star?

Since when does coach criticism equate to wanting USM basketball to do bad? I've been super critical of Doc and I still am to this second...but that doesn't mean I don't root/hope our bball has all the success in the world. I pray to GAWD I'm proven wrong but I don't think Doc is the answer for future success of USM bball.

247 has him as 3 stars for whatever that matters but the colleges listed include some of the best.

“Hey it’s Nebraska” man seems to be doing a good job. He’s turning it around. You’ll be in the discussion for a top four conference seed very soon. Congratulations on the recruit. I look forward to seeing him in a USM uniform next season when we play each other.

My point has still been made once again. You STILL haven’t said anything positive about him.

I've never understood the hate to this point.....Doc inherited a shitehole from fat tub-0-goo.....it's simply stupid to look at it any other way....me and HP have tried to explain it over and over and over and over again on the local board....
this year we get to find out what he can do by adding depth with a full compliment of schollys.....that's kind of a big deal....
from here, ol' boy has two years in my book to show how well he can coach....
he did XACLY! what I expected last year.....beating MT was pure icing....
I'm optimistic....but that's just me....
