Not a commit to NMSU but Jermaine Haley signs with WVU.

West, by God, Virginia.

Too bad it didn't work out for Haley at NMSU. Can Aggie fans confirm or deny the 5 star claI'm, though? Not sure which recruiting outfit they pulled that from, but Verbal Commits only has him ranging from 3-4. Either way, good luck to the kid.

Thanks for the breakdown, Pistol. I believe that fills all of GCU's open scholarships, so we shouldn't see any significant additions to the 2018-19 roster. Do Aggies just have the 4 senior scholarships plus Gabe Hadley's spot (5 total) to fill? I don't recall any other announced departures.

I do not recall him being a 5 star recruit but he was definitely 4 stars out of HS.

For us Tyson Smith is immediately available. He didn't play all of last year because of a leg injury.

NMSU had three seniors (J. Jones, Lofton, and Wilkins) plus three transfers (Miles, Hadley, and Stewart).... that is six open scholarships for the 2018-19 roster. Keep in mind, both Jojo Zamora and CJ Bobbitt were already on scholarship this past season. So, in actuality NMSU has currently filled three of the six open scholarships with the additions of two RS freshman (Robert Brown and Jabari Rice) and the incoming freshman (Addison Wallace). NMSU "should" still have three open scholarships left to fill.

BTW, Utah Valley just added 6'0 JUCO point guard Travis TJ Washington from Coffeyville CC. He was a NJCAA 2nd Team All-American and ranked #69 in the JC top 100. He averaged 14.1 ppg and 3.6 apg.

GCU still has one more scholarship open with Fifii and Kerwin transferring some where else and the scholarship spot that Kenzo was using was never filled by anyone on the team last season.

I figured Kerwin would transfer but never saw an official story or social media post. He was essentially demoted to practice squad so I don’t blame him. Aidoo is officially gone as well? I also assumed he’d go with the transfers coming in and the lack of playing time toward the end of last season. Will miss those freakishly long arms on defense.

You are wrong on the Kenzo front Matt Jackson was given his schollie in the 2nd semester and has it still. GCU has 0 Scholarships left to give out for the 18-19 season.

Carlos Johnson is what GCU staff wished Fifi and DeAndre Davis could be.

Kerwin was never a D1 player and it showed every time he was on the court.

You don't know what Carlos Johnson is yet. Don't put the cart before the horse yet Frank Jr. I have heard GCU fans rant every year about some great player or players and they end up being a bust. Fifi, DeAndre Davis, Shaq Carr, Casey Benson, Darion Clark, Dominic Magee, Royce Woolridge.... Majerle had everyone wetting their pants about all these players and none of them turned out to be what was advertised. Majerle ended up trashing them like he does all his players with the exception of Dwayne Russell who I think in time will probably marry each other some day.

Would you prefer zero anticipation or excitement about the kind of impact a commit or commits might have for any given school? It appears you've made yourself the sheriff of expectations around here, so just want to be sure I don't run afoul of the law.

Every fan base gets excited about their recruits but GCU fans in general get Frank like about it. I'm glad for your class. Other than that graduate student from Western Washington I don't think this class is the one to take GCU to the next step. If I were a GCU fan I would wetting my pants about Lever. However, guard play for GCU is going to be huge. Is young Finkke as good as advertised or Braun 2.0? Is Milstead going to get better or continue to be in Majerles dog house? Another guy who was a great get is Rymes. His athletic talent is what GCU needs. All in all good class for GCU. It's going to be another fun year.

RE: WAC commits 2018-19
I follow UW basketball and Carlos this last year for the most part didn't get much time on the court b/c he wasn't a Hopkins recruit but when he played against VT #12Gonzaga WSU Belmont he was good. But the year prior under Romar in his Freshman year did even better vs NAU ASU 2x WKU TCU #8 Gonzaga Nevada OSU Colorado and USC. He has shown at the P5 level when given time on the court he can produce.

RE: WAC commits 2018-19
We will see my GCU friend. I'm hoping the #6 and #10 rated junior college players decide to play for NMSU. Those are just numbers but if we do get them it would be after everyone else went after them and they both decided to go to NMSU. If we do get those two guys NMSUs recruiting class, by the ratings, would be a better class and IMO by far than anyone else in the WAC and we would have a better overall roster coming back as well IMO. Dan the Tan, here we come again! I wanna see Dan's vein pop out of his head during an NMSU game this coming year or him do the Neanderthal jig he did during the WAC championship game on the sideline when he was talking to Lever. It's precious. Re-watch it guys. it's hilarious!

RE: WAC commits 2018-19
Seattle U added Matt Vail from local Stanwood High School as a walk on. He has a top academic scholarship like Ian Burke, but Vail has no recruiting pages. His grandpa is Seattle U legend Eddie O'Brien, so have to think that connection landed him a walk on spot
