Seattle, IMHO, has the best chance to upend NMSU this year. They scare me the most by far.

NJCAA - National Junior College Athletic Association - 206 Division I schools, 126 Division II schools, 112 Divisions III schools in all states except the west coast.
CCCAA - California Community College Athletic Association - 96 schools in California
NWAC - Northwest Athletic Conference - 34 schools in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

Thanks Pistol. Based on this newfound info (to me at least), Ivan would appear to be the better prospect. Nonetheless, Seattle is gonna be a force this year.

Luckily Hundal will presumably get a year to develop off the bench, maybe even redshirt, with Menzies and Myles Carter ahead of him this year. Both new signee's look promising, I agree

I think Seattle starting line up next will be as follows...

PG: Morgan Means... 6'3...175... Jr
SG: Delante Jones... 6'5... 190... Jr (American transfer)
SF: Mataj Kavas... 6'8... 200... Jr
PF: Myles Carter... 6'9... 230... Jr (Seton Hall transfer)
C: Aaron Menzies... 7'3... 285... Sr

RE: WAC commits 2018-19
Seattle is going to be stout next year. They got some great additions and will be a difficult team to beat. NMSU got a great add with Ivan. Canyon picked up a few folks and I’m excited about the future, but admittedly more so for the 2019-2020 season. Has anyone heard much about Cal Baptist recruiting? UMKC? They’d better keep up. So far this off season, Canyon and SU are setting the pace.

I'd have to agree, though when Hayford loves to use a stretch 4, I could see Kavas moving to PF and putting someone like McDowell at SF against certain lineups. Carter then comes off the bench.

MoDowell and Jones are both 6'5 while Kavas is 6'8. All that size gives SU a lot of options. Rip Economou (10 D1 offers) is 6'7 and if he doesn't redshirt could factor in too.

Greg Mitchell on SB Nation's Mid-Major Madness has a nice article on the Aggies getting Ivan Aurrecoechea and how he can help fill the rebounding void that now exists with J. Jones' graduation.

I noticed when Lever played with our bigs on the inside he got pushed around a lot and his interior offense and defense was average for a guy his height...

I don't agree with most of this. Lever was having his way with our bigs in LC and scored at will. He only shot 3 three pointers that game meaning most of his work was done in the paint and shorter jumpers. If he did not foul out with like 18 minutes left in the game, I'm confident in saying that GCU probably wins that game.

I disagree. NMSU was going to win that game even if Lever stayed in the game. NMSU beat GCU with Lever in the line-up in Vegas so to say we would have lost is just wrong.

You are wrong. I’m a basketball coach and you are a football “coach”. If Lever doesn’t foul out with 18 minutes left GCU wins. End of story. I’m right. Period.

Congrats! Looks like he had offers from several other schools with Florida Gulf Coast probably the best on the list. Of course, if I were him I would have chosen NMSU over those other schools too. His opportunity to play in the dance is much greater. I do hope GCU spoils that though.
