Lennie Waite at Commonwealth Games on Wednesday [early]
On Wednesday morning (4:45 CDT), Lennie Waite will represent Scotland in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, taking place in Australia.

START LIST of competitors.

LIVE STREAM is here. I have not tried it so I cannot speak to its usefulness.

The "Watch Live" button on that website links to Watch ESPN, which begins its Commonwealth Games broadcast at 2 a.m.EST ... so I'd expect that the broadcast quality will be good.

It looks like the "Athletics" broadcast begins at 4 a.m. Central time. (The broadcast of other CG events started at 2 a.m. Eastern time.)

Lennie finished last (10:21.72). She was never in contention, running most of the race in 9th position of the 10 competitors.

There was a dramatic finish: Jamaica's Aisha PRAUGHT surged past Kenyan favorite Celliphine Chepteek CHESPOL just before the last barrier and won 9:21.00 to 9:22.61.

Kenyan Purity Cherotich KIRUI was 3rd (9:25.74).

Sounds like she needs to find a better trainer and coach.

Sweet fancy Moses, dude. She is almost 32 years old and this was her first 3000 steeplechase of the year. She was probably selected for the meet because Scotland has no one within 30 seconds of her.
