Did any of these guys have other FBS or FCS offers? Just curious if they are PWO in the sense that they are actual walk-ons, or if they are PWO in the sense that they would be on scholarship, but qualify for either full academic or need-based scholarships. Rice is either getting a lot more PWOs then in the past, or they are announcing them with more gusto.

Anigbogu is from our local high school. I can find out his offers in the next few days. I saw him play a couple of times this year and I honestly don't recall him much from the beginning of the year, but I believe he was making more plays as the season went on. Ridge Point's defense was definitely the highlight of the team. They have a DE going to UH, and several juniors who will field D1 offers next year.

Quick search... seems Mecom had an FCS offer from Drake. Anigbogu from Davidson.

One thing about a preferred walk on is they they know where they stand and they have a huge incentive to work really hard to play. Walk ons have been very successful at Rice in the past.

Just watched the highlights posted from The Roost. He's a good commit. Lanky young man that can throw deep and looks to have a soft touch on his passes. Not afraid to tuck and run.

At the roost with a nice update today. We've already announced 10 preferred walk-ons (!). No question the new tuition guidelines are helping there.

Supposedly he had an offer in the works from Air Force. Played LB for RP (and as I said, really improved during the season) but projects as a safety in college. I think he'll be on scholarship before long.

Any guesses? Are these likely to be grad transfers?

Stanford FB, Texas RB, Harvard WR. Did any of these sign elsewhere?
