Our fans will never be happy. It's impossible to please a large portion of them.

Football is a different animal because it is still somewhat of a novelty (Just 10 years old and 4 in the FBS). But at some point, we need to take the next step and challenge for a conference title and beat a P5.

Unfortunately, I think we've reached the point where our stadium has become a hindrance to recruiting. Beating Liberty at the opening of their new stadium would be a nice way to start (and we should be favored).

"Most successful FCS start up ever" has lost it's currency. I and I suspect most fans, don't put much stock in that anymore. It was great at the time, but time marches on.

I didn't say "FCS" startup.

RE: ODU Football - Spring Game
After watching the spring game and hearing Wilder talk about how far SW has come in a short time, honestly his performance appeared to have digressed since the end of the season. I hope Saturday's performance was just a down day for SW. They have 4.5 months to improve if not we could be staring at SB 2.0 all over again. Bobby Wilder is like Bob Ross painting happy trees and pretty little clouds in our minds.

Liberty has done something we haven't, they beat an awful p5 school.

We really need to win the first three games to have a realistic chance to get to six wins. The schedule this year is brutal. And next year we play UVA, Tech, and ECU.

Perhaps we’ll run the table this year and get ranked:)

They also had a conference record of 2-3 last year in the Big South. Paint the full picture there Bob! :D

Have we played a awful p5 school yet? I guess Carolina last year might be the worst, and not sure they was as bad as the record showed.

We lost to Vandy, that counts as an awful P5 school.

If we lose to Liberty, our coach has to go. No if's and's or but's about it. It would be an embarrassment worthy of sending him packing back to the "Great White North".

Can't agree with this. LU has far more resources and commitment from fans and the university's management then Wilder has. Not to mention LU is opening their new stadium which will only make them all the more eager for the win.

Agreed on all counts.

It is premature to call for BW's head.
In FCS we had a "big time" feel; big loud stadium, and huge fan support.
Consequently, we were able to recruit at the highest tier at the FCS level.

At FBS we are just another G5 with lower end facilities.

Therefore
1. We still have no real idea what BW can do given a level playing field (see what I did there? 03-lmfao)
2. Who could we get to replace him anyway, given the state of our facilities and our Kirkland Cox budget constraints?

Until we get the stadium and associated peripheral facilities up to standard, we really have no idea where we are or what BW is capable of.

Possibly Vandy, and we're pretty good at losing to G5 schools! 04-cheers

Definitely would be an awesome intro!

Does anyone have an updated depth chart to share? Would be interesting to see how things are changing.

They were handing out rosters, and possibly depth charts, at the game. I never found the tent at which they were handing out either...my tail was somewhat gated, however.

The real scaled down version of Jeff. I set behind him and if you think Jones is tough at games...... watch this guy. But, love that he seeks out the player and explains that to him.

I noticed in the game that Valle was getting some pressure, but also someone I never heard of before Maxime Evans seemed to do decent.
