Toungue Midwest Conference?
Interesting article in fbschedules.com. It gives us some love by picking us for a hypothetical conference schism. Toledo is also considered for our spot. Before everyone attacks I don't see this as reality.

Boy, she really glossed over the biggest part of this plan, making G5's a lower level league. The idea of super conferences isn't new, it's always been about what to do with the G5 schools.

Whatever ends up happening, it has to be better than the football limbo we are currently stuck in.

RE: Midwest Conference?
Interesting idea. My suggestions:

-Eight 10-team conferences
-Always play your nine conference opponents
-Three non-conference games, one of which must be another P8 school.
-One FCS and one G-whatever opponent allowed. Those schools need the revenue and the P8 schools need a couple of easier games to get ready for their conference schedule. These must be the first two games of the season, not a de facto bye right before playing your biggest opponent like the SEC does.
-G8 schools play a maximum of seven home games

Amazing if NIU makes the cut, hell on earth if they don't.

Great to think about, but NEVER going to happen...too much TV money setup a few years ago to get some of these large conferences exposure to non-traditional markets...IE BIG with Rutgers to get NY Market. You would have to overhaul all of the NCAA to make this work, this isn't even a pipe dream with the way greed exists in those high level NCAA offices.

RE: Midwest Conference?
We don't have money for that. The state is financially bankrupt. We don't have enough big donors
