Rally Cap debuts on SEC Network
I didn't know it was coming, but I did happen to catch a little bit this past weekend.

Rally Cap debuts and will air on Sunday nights during Spring

Similar concept to what they did with Thinking Out Loud during the football season. They will cover both baseball and softball.

I think increasing the coverage of baseball and softball is a good idea.

I maintain, however, that the baseball and softball seasons should be moved back a little so that the beginning of the season doesn't get lost in the March Madness.

RE: Rally Cap debuts on SEC Network
There is a market for SEC baseball. The Arkansas fans consider it the third season following football and basketball seasons. I’m sure other Universities also support these games pretty well too.

I have no problem with the baseball season being played during March Madness as it’s not like fans that want to follow both at same time couldn’t. Now the casual fan has the opportunity to start following baseball season once the basketball season has ended can tell if the baseball team is any good given the subset of games already played.

I'd prefer more of those games be in warmer months for one thing...

Other than that, the casual fan's attention will be on basketball and I think it would be easier to improve both attendance and TV ratings if the early season games had a more favorable introduction. Of course, the same could be said for college basketball.

But I'm hoping Bama gets to the point where they're competitive again. I got spoiled a little bit during the Jim Wells years and we made the CWS frequently. It's been a while since we had that level of success although they finally broke down and rebuilt the baseball stadium. Brad Bohannon already has more wins in his first season than Greg Goff had all of last year.

It starts when it does because of fall baseball and winter baseball where many of the players sharpen their skills. It ends when it does because of when practice for Fall football begins and because Omaha has the CWS set in stone. Moving back to accommodate weather simply means fewer games.
