Not exactly 3 and under for both, but...
Fuente went 4-8 and 3-9 first two seasons at Memphis. Next two were 10-3 and 9-3.
Taggart went 2-10 and 4-8 at USF, then 8-5 and 10-2.

RE: AAC Football News Thread
Tulane picked up WR grad transfer Freddy Canteen from Notre Dame. He transferred to Notre Dame from Michigan, where he was originally a 4 star recruit. He only has 7 receptions in 3 starts over 3 years. He's expected to still have 2 years elligibilty due to injuries. Also elligible to play immediately.
Kind of an interesting transfer tbh. Tulane isn't especially hurting at WR compared to the last couple years. Biggest glaring hole is at backup QB, where every Green Wave fan is desperate for a grad transfer.

SMU
First three: at North Texas (Sept. 1), TCU (Sept. 7), and at Michigan (Sept. 15)
SMU is one of only two teams on our list who’ll likely face two ranked foes in the first three weeks of play. Michigan is No. 10 in ESPN’s rankings and No. 11 in Phil Steele’s Top 25. As mentioned above, TCU is at No. 20 in both sets of predictions.
The Mustangs knocked off a top-ranked team as recently as 2016 when they upset (11) Houston 38-16 as 22-point underdogs. They haven’t beaten a member of the Top 25 that was a Power conference member at game time (they beat No. 20 TCU when it was still a Mountain West member in 2011) in 32 years. That was in 1986, when the old Southwest Conference was still going strong, and the ponies traveled to (13) Baylor and won 27-21.
SMU tied Ohio State in 1978, but it hasn’t knocked off a current member of the Big Ten since 1970 when it edged Northwestern 21-20 in Evanston. It has won three-straight over North Texas and 11 of the last 14.

Terrible timing to get that TCU home game.

Chad tried to get out of that Michigan game to no avail. Sonny said screw it, you can't beat the best if you don't play the best.

ECU got a commitment from a kicker, Patrick Nations, yesterday.
http://247sports.com/Player/Patrick-Nations-46056554
Until this morning 247 had him listed as a 3 star safety. Of course, now he's a 2 (not making this up). Nice to have a backup plan on kickoff coverage.
Ray Guy Prokicker. com rates him as the #1 kicker in the 2019 class, 2 years running.

Quote:Patrick Nations is one of the most talented underclassman ever involved in the Ray Guy Prokicker.com program. A rising senior – Nations has dominated every ranking in his class (2019) like no other. With his powerful “left” foot he can generate tremendous distance and hang time on kickoffs. I truly believe he could start for any college football team in the country – and excel – right now!” –Rick Sang, Director Ray Guy Prokicker.com

This is why I can't get into the star rankings. If Holton would have signed with Georgia or Florida he would be a 4 star.

DT - Keziah Everett - 6'2" 330lbs
ECU has gone all-in for this kid, and was the first to offer, I believe. He's a local kid... plays his high school at Farmville Central, just a few miles outside of Greenville.
He has offers from ECU, UNC, South Carolina, Virginia, Duke, and App State.
We have SORELY lacked a giant space-eater on the DL for several seasons, and Keziah fits that bill.
Fingers crossed that he makes the right choice and plays his college football at home where he belongs!
Keziah chooses ECU!!!!
Welcome aboard!!!!
BAM!!!
Say what you like about Coach Mo, he may have back to back 3 win seasons but he can still pull in recruits with multiple P5 offers!
Go Pirates! Go Mo!
Nice highlight of him running and catching the football on 247 sports.

No he is graduated. It's Hinton from Durham, Garrard's nephew.

Kendall Hinton. Not sure if he was an ECU commit. 247 says Lincoln Riley recrecruited him and Scottie Mo recruited him to Duke.

NJ DT/OT Jermaine Donaldson commits to Temple over Nebraska, BC, and NC State. Will probably play on the OL at Temple.

Tulsa picked up our 3rd commit so far. Local Tulsa Edison OL Chester Baah. 6'2" 285lbs. He had an offer from Navy as well.

Holton Ahlers - QB
Offers: Georgia, Florida, NC State, Oregon State, Indiana, Minnesota, Cincinnati, etc.
Keziah Everett - DT
Offers: UNC, South Carolina, UVA, Duke, etc.
CJ Johnson - WR
Offers: Virginia Tech, UNC, NC State, Duke
I really hope this translates to a better product on the field, because we haven't really ever had a coach that could keep the local talent here like Mo can.
He hasn't built the wall yet, but he has dug the trenches for it. It's still gonna be tough to keep New Hanover and Craven county kids.
The thing is: UNC has come into Pitt County for kids that they really wanted and have been swatted away twice. UNC really moved to get Keziah Everette to come to their "Freak Show" camp all last week. He didn't go. That's a big damn deal.
Scottie has recruited kids with heavy offer lists. Knock down Jeremy Lewis and I’ll be a believer.

Tulsa picked up 2 more commits in as many days.
Trey Collier. Kaufman, TX. ATH. 6'0" 170. Only offer Tulsa.
Raquan Thompson. Killeen, TX. DE. 6'3" 270. 8 offers including Tulane, Air Force, and Hawaii.
This brings us up to 5 total and the #9 class in the AAC. Hopefully we keep the momentum going. It was pretty slow til now.

this makes no sense for us or for him....Houston has already named a starting qb, he is coming here knowing he'd be a backup?
we have other position needs, why are we using a scholarship on a qb?
i guess it doesnt hurt to have another qb on the roster
When your QB likes to run the ball himself, injury is just one good pop away. I hope it doesn't happen, but it's nothing new if it does. It's happened many times before, it's sure to happen again. Its just part of the deal with a dynamic and mobile QB.
