One thing we can be sure of is that both teams will be FCS powerhouses by the time they come to town.

Also I see SC is rescheduled for a home and home. Of course we have to go there first. Maybe they will reciprocate this time. They are scheduled to play in Greenville on Sept 11, 2021. That's 20 years to the day.
Was that a reschedule, or did they just add dates to games we already had on the docket?

This is a reschedule of a game SC "postponed." We went to Columbia in 2016. SC was supposed to come to Greenville in 2019, but blew us off to play UNC in Charlotte. Now we have to go back to Columbia in 2020 and the Greenville game is pushed off to 2021.
Out of 19 games only 3 have been played in Greenville. SC hasn't played in Greenville since 1997 and I'll be surprised if they come in 2021. Maybe I'm overly pessimistic.

Apparently that's an SEC disease. Arkansas owes us a game from the 90s, and TN owes us a game from the 2010s.

Wow. Idk if Arkansas actually owes any games, but they refuse to play us in Tulsa. Even though OU and OSU will.

I don't think it's that big a deal. Everyone plays an FCS team nowadays, and we didn't have cupcake games scheduled for those years. The teams are close by, in places where we recruit heavy. Don't really have any issue with it.
I do, however, think we need to fill the cartel slots quickly, because the 2023 and forward schedules are starting to look pretty lousy.

Norfolk state I can almost excuse since we do recruit tidewater. We are already getting the local talent that doesn't go to ACC schools so Campbell makes no sense at all. The scheduling trend is worrisome to me.

I'm ok with App State, and even Charlotte for recruiting if we balance them out with good teams. The P6/P6/G4/FCS model would be fine with me, but we're getting away from it fast.

I'm also not a fan of the App@BOA stadium and @ App before App comes to greenville. It sets a dangerous precedent if ECU is quick to fill non schedule with CUSA and FCS teams instead of going after the ACC/SEC games.

No they don't. Mostly because the games stem from a time before such contracts were constructed. Tulsa and Arkansas can't even agree on when the first game was played it was so long ago. From the 20s to the 50s virtually every game was played in Tulsa. From about 52 to present every game has been in Fayetteville and we've been cheated nearly every damn time. . . Here is an old (1984) article about the series.
https://newsok.com/article/2079430/tu-ho...as-rivalry
1) Even back then this was a money game notice John Cooper's as AD comments.
2) This was at the start of a 20ish year every year of playing OSU. The move to the WAC and Burns comments gave OSU the out they wanted from the nearly every year game. Since then they have ducked us when ever possible and now leverage are low stadium size for 2 for 1 deals they don't deserve.
