I think they are trying to figure out what to do with his AAU team. When Penny became the head coach, he had to cut ties with the AAU program - so name change from 'Team Penny' to 'Bluff City Legends' (which is what I believe it was called before they switched to Team Penny a few years back - so full circle).

So, I believe they are undergoing the same process with Mike Miller's AAU team 'M33M' ... assuming they are in discussion NCAA and/or compliance committee ...

Or letting him do some recruiting during the dead period...

AFAIK, the only restriction would be just don't act like a booster. Coaching limitations dont appky to someone who isn't a coach.

I'm not too sure how often these "he isn't hired yet he can recruit" scenarios actually get played out.

Do they actually go out and recruit for a school before they get hired, after negotiations, and before a finalization?

I'm betting that's it. Takes time to work that out the right way - functioning, legit, but "non-affiliated". Isn't Miller's bro-in-law involved already? Seems like the perfect one to take over.

Cal in his house was when he had already turned in his car etc. he wasn’t with Memphis at that time for sure but you know who was Josh Pastner calling players for Kentucky on Memphis dime. I know this as fact and it’s one of the small reasons I never liked Pastner besides the fact that he sucked
