My worry is that it wont be enough to make them change their mind... History is AMAZINGLY clear about the fact that Democrats have NEVER had black peoples well being in mind. And yet... they still vote Dem.

so you thought there was some magic switch.....really???

they knew XACLY! what they were doing before and after the civil war.....

the problem today is nothing more than those that have and those that don't.....

guess which color in numbers doesn't have today.....

one can argue percentages all they want.....it doesn't change the serious advantages minorities and illegals have escaping poverty today vs. the past.....

what it takes is time to educate, build, and create a diverse economic system that allows any ethnic class to develop.....

it's the butthurt folks that whine....that'd be you....

Since when is stating a fact whining? Neither party has the best interest of black folk in mind. Show me where I'm wrong.

I'd agree with this....

but one party certainly is more concerned with the color of their skin rather than the quality of their character. Not every person who supports those parties by any means.... maybe not even a plurality.... but certainly the content that comes out of the processes.

nobody's disagreeing with that....neither party cares about 'chez whitey' either.....

you're implying the 'race card'....you do it almost every post.....to that, I say KMA!

as I previously pointed out, minorities and illegals have a much greater subsidized advantage to improve their condition if they so choose.....

I'd agree with this....

And that creates what I see as a huge opportunity for the republican party, but they are too stupid to take advantage.

We have a welfare system that, to paraphrase LBJ, operates on the principle of, "Keep 'em dumb, keep 'em poor, keep 'em dependent on handouts, and you'll keep 'em voting democrat." And republicans can't offer a better alternative. Guaranteed minimum income, Bismarck universal private health care, and pay for it with a consumption tax. The only people not better off are the fat cat bureaucrats who make 3 counties in the DC metro area the wealthiest in the US--and 7 of the top 12.

Who better to free blacks--and browns--from the welfare plantation than the party of Lincoln? So why don't they?

As for your second point. I totally agree with it. They are in the position to better themselves. Some do but a majority do not.

LBJ isn't far behind peanut boy or ZERO in my book.....IMO, he was what kick started the entire thing in the current era....

I don't think they're too stupid (of course some of them are)....

I think that you can't claim that race is immaterial and then do things that focus on someone's race. I agree 110% with your opinions, but how long has that 'truth' been out there (keep em dumb etc) and even with total control by the democrats and a minority president, WHAT legislation did he pass to improve the lives of black people that didn't (like most Republican ideals) similarly improve the lives of white people?

Before anyone starts, things like increasing social services and obamacare (even if you bought the sales pitch) were designed to help POOR people and go away if they ever cease to be poor people, which is a big part of the 'keep em poor and dumb' you're talking about.

They may well have done something.... I just haven't seen it.

which is the premise of the thread and the BET founder....

if MLK was alive today, I feel confident he wouldn't be happy how things have evolved over the past 50 years.....
