All great signs. Maybe Keen/Creighton got a little complacent last year with a 5th year QB with an NFL arm. Make it easier for your entire offense by out-scheming the opposition, instead of playing vanilla and having to have each player beat their guy individually to have any success. Does that make any sense? Good coaches can still win, with lesser talent, simply by scheme, discipline, and play calling.

At Alabama and Ohio State, it's about the Jimmie's and Joe's. For EMU to really challenge for a title we need our coaches to be at the upper echelon of the MAC with their X's and O's.

If we can somehow accomplish THAT, we could still be pretty good with average QB play.

What I don't know, and I don't coach, never coached, not even Pop Warner football, is how good our Xs and Ox are? BTW, Xs and Os are love and kisses, right? 03-lmfao

That's above my pay grade.

Maybe Jon Gruden can watch some EMU tape and text me...

I understand CC as a program manager, leader, recruiter, promoter, etc. but I just don't feel competent to judge his on the field coaching.

From my perspective CC understands the Xs and Os quite well and he understands what it takes to win on offense, defense, and everything but punting. He's got me scratching my head on rugby style punting scheme.

, I heard CC say that to win you have to be able to run the ball and stop the run. That is true at all levels. Last year we were more 1 dimensional due to the inability to run the ball consistently and effectively.

If we lose another game to a rugby style punt block just fire them all!

No excuse. 03-banghead
