The Troy/App game only had two umps until the 7th inning when the other two arrived. Guess they missed the game time being moved up.

Chants grind it out until the end! Seth Lancaster hits another homer to make it 11-6 in the 9th but, alas, we can't overcome the big lead the Jaguars put up against us. Coastal's spring football game is starting up next door now so at least we won't lose that one...

We did set a baseball attendance record tonight for a Sun Belt game so there's that!

Tomorrow's first pitch is at 10 a.m. EST with weather supposedly wet and wild. Game two should be interesting...

Not sure. I got here after the crew was introduced. Gilley was tossed in the 4th. Took all 5 seconds to get tossed. USA could bounce one in and get a strike, and we couldn't get a call if we placed the ball on a tee. Rough night so far 10-3 USA after 5

It's not a truly bad umpire unless he's so inconsistent that both teams end up arguing balls and strikes.

I get what you’re saying, really do... and would usually agree.

But tonight was clearly one sided blindness, especially early. For example USA only outhit us 11-10, and when USA was swinging our P’s were good enough to strike out 11, so it’s not like we were completely inept on the mound.

Yet we got rung up for 15 (FIFTEEN) walks, 10 by our starter in 3.1 innings... about the time our coach got tossed too... Everybody has “off” nights, and Bilous certainly was not his best, but come on. It’s not like it was a “tight zone”, USA only issued 3 walks.

AState ran into Hunter Gaddis tonight and our Friday Night guy decided to have trouble locating.
