If I recall, the lease terms lock in the team for awhile unless the owner pays a stiff severance fee.

However, eventually a team located in a small, stagnant, and relatively poor market will be in danger of moving to another city with greater resources.

so, behind the two markets that are actually in the Finals?

I'm shocked. Judging by many here, basketball, especially pro, is an inferior sport.

Great to see the larger populace disprove the microcosm of a message board.

Go Tigers! Go Grizz!

Hoop City!!!!!!

I read this board every day and have yet to see anything that points to that conclusion.

and,,,,if the shoe fits,,,,

In all fairness, it is free to watch the games on TV.

The same can be said for CFB. Memphis gets some of the highest ratings for those but struggles to break 35K at the LB on a blustery day.

this is true

but it's free for everybody else, too

for Memphis to be the top non competing team TV market, as well as consistently being in the top over the years, is still impressive

I know for a fact that the NBA Pursuit Team used these stats in their pitch to Stern back in the day.

And to that, Memphis has been a fantastic NBA city.

They continue to try to put Kevin love in the pick and roll...

Not sure why, he is their second highest rated defensive player 03-wink

Some stats are just stupid.

Curry and Thompson combine for 29% shooting and GS wins on the road against a motivated team and the best player of this era. 04-jawdrop

Shock and awe in the 3rd quarter. The other teams know it's coming so they try to play like Golden State which makes for long rebounds on missed threes which leads to a fast break. Last night their 3rd quarter was only derailed by Curry missing shots.

James played with a broken hand since game one. 04-jawdrop

I think he is superhuman - not in the Marvel sense obvioiusly but in the context of what we perceive humans can do.
