If that's seriously all he did...wow. Unless he used a chair to slap the guy on the helmet, that's ridiculous.

lol...down in TX we had a former Baylor OL as an assistant coach of my High School FB team who used a 2x4 to smack us RBs and WRs in the middle of our helmet as we practiced spinning off of tackling dummies. And now you know where my problems started. 03-lmfao

The entire incident at ETSU sounds rather made up. Perhaps somebody is just peeved that the previous coach retired.

if that's seriously all it's about, something is rotten in Johnson City and that player is a serious crybaby who needs to go home. I know Randy Sanders. Heck I remember when he was in high school! He is a straight up guy and this is BS.

RE: OT: ETSU HC suspended for slapping player in the helmet.
In high school, I received a 15 yard personal foul penalty while on the kickoff team. When I went to the sideline, my coach asked me what happened? I told him the guy blocking me slapped me in the helmet so I slapped him right back. With that, he preceded to slap me in the helmet multiple times while yelling at me, “what do you think your helmet is for?”. I didn’t like it because I was embarrassed to be called out for my mistake. The slaps to the helmet were loud but he was right, the helmet protected me from being hurt.

Being slapped while wearing a helmet is a non-event unless it’s below the belt.

I still think this whole thing is BS, but I guess since the complaint was made by some crybaby player the university has to put some kind of face on it. Anyway, Randy is back on the job. I suppose the player has taken his marbles and gone home. He should, IMNSHO.
