IPF finally under construction
The SMU Indoor Performance Center represents a tangible, visible investment in our vision to establish SMU Athletics as the best overall program in the American Athletic Conference. This facility will enhance the student experience, elevate our competitiveness and serve as an asset to the entire campus community.

The SMU Indoor Performance Center will be located in the heart of campus at the corner of Bishop Boulevard and Binkley Avenue, and in close proximity to the Loyd All-Sports Center. The 67,000-square-foot facility will house a 4,000-square-foot multi-use Boulevard Club, a 4,000-square-foot Recruiting Lobby/Lounge with an observation deck and access to a 1,500-square-foot outdoor patio, and a 90-yard (including endzone) turf field with access to a training room, fitness/rehab area and lockers for former SMU players in the NFL. A storage area, a pantry, IT space and a video control room will also be included in the facility.

The Boulevard Club
The Boulevard Club, located on the ground floor just inside the Indoor Performance Center’s main entrance off Bishop Boulevard, will serve as a multi-purpose space that will accommodate banquets, presentations, meetings, hospitality, and other social gatherings and campus and community events.

Recruiting Lounge
The Recruiting Lobby/Lounge, located above the Boulevard Club on the second floor, includes an observation deck overlooking the Practice Field as well as an adjacent patio with views of campus and will feature comfortable furniture, TVs, uniform/helmet combinations, and graphics and displays showcasing the great moments and players in program history.

Practice Field
The Practice Field, located centrally to campus and near the Loyd All-Sports Center, will feature the same state-of-the-art playing surface as Ford Stadium and will increase flexibility for SMU’s sports programs to train, particularly during inclement weather. This space will also allow use by other campus and student groups when not programmed by Athletics.
