Local Dems Trying To Act Like The Big Boys
Quote:SANTA FE – Republican Rep. Sharon Clahchischilliage withstood a legal challenge Friday aimed at kicking her off the ballot.

She was challenged because she had written her middle initial in by hand at the top of her petitions – a potential problem because state law prohibits altering the header.

But Clahchischilliage said it was ridiculous for opponents to try to push her off the ballot – and consequently, out of office – simply because of an initial.

In any case, the state Republican Party announced Friday that Clahchischilliage won the court case.

Democrats “resorted to filing frivolous lawsuits because they know they can’t win a fair fight against outstanding candidates like Sharon Clahchischilliage,” GOP Chairman Ryan Cangiolosi said in a written statement.
