RE: OT: Cord Cutters question
These threads always amaze me in how they devolve into people arguing over how another adult chooses to or chooses not to spend their money.
I'm not switching to an internet bundler anytime soon for my reasons and I really don't care if someone else chooses to opt for such as long as they aren't touting some pirate outfit that isn't paying rights fees. If an internet bundler works for you that's great, it makes no difference to me whether you chose sat/cable/iptv or just bend an old hanger into an antenna.

We are saving a $100/month in cost. We already had Nextflix and my wife was an Amazon Prime member (we had not been using their media services) so we have all the movies, programs that we can watch. We are paying $20/mo for Set TV, a streaming service (similar to Sling) that gives us over 300 channels. I get all NFL, NHL, & MLB games. I have all the ESPNs, HBOs, Cinemax, Showtime, etc. There is plenty of soccer selections too, plus all the major and cable networks/channels. It is worth checking out.
Can you go into more detail about SetTV? I checked out the website and it lists a ton of channels (including Premium channels and most major sports channels). I was disappointed it didn't support Roku, but I have a hard time believing you get all that for only $20/month. What's the deal? How exactly does it work?
I don't know a lot about Set TV. When we decided to cut the cord, we asked friends what they used. One person that I used to work with said she has used it for 5 months and it was great. Another friend said he had used the service for 1 1/2 years and loved it. Since he is a bit of a tech guy, his recommendation won me over. I've a couple issues during the first month (I am not too tech savvy) and I found their online chat responsive and helpful. My thought was at $20/month, if I didn't like it, I could change to another service with very little downside. You can always do their free trial to see how you like it.

just did the free trial for set tv. what I did not like was the inability to watch previous episodes. deal killer for me. otherwise it was good.
