Speaking of potential, the other K-State transfer, Corey Sutton, could also be a starter on Week 1 in Happy Valley.

Price the most talented App State football player EVER? More talented than Edwards? He may be, in your opinion, the best you've ever seen at App, but that's a bold statement given your relatively small window of viewing App Football. For sheer talent I'd put Darrell Skinner ('97-2000) ahead of Quick or Price. That guy was one of the most electric players to ever wear Black and Gold. Only player to be ranked in the top 5 in the SoCon in receiving and APY in '99 & '00 and did it playing on I formation power running team.

I'll be stunned if Sutton doesn't start at Penn State.

Sutton, Hennigan, and Malik Williams were likely the starters before this transfer. Now, not so sure about Malik. I'll say if Heath comes in and gets up to speed quickly I bet he'll get more burn than Williams.

Jalen Virgil, Mock Adams, and TE Collin Reed are all great options as well. No shortage of options for Zac Thomas.

Darrynton Evans likely back to RB now with our injuries there.

Don't count out Mock Adams. A "can't miss" prospect when he signed with App Adams has been injured most of his career, but seems to be getting back on track.

Not so sure about that. We had a few stars emerge last year out of necessity in Hennigan and Williams, both freshman. With Evans returning from injury and the addition of Heath, the WR's look promising.

There will never be another Dexter Jackson.

See below for our greatest App receiver of all time. Gods gift to App State that wasn't meant to be. Was the co national freshman of the year in FCS after breaking the all time freshman record for receptions and receiving yards in 2012. Receiving yards record previously held by Randy Moss. Oh yea....and Sean did all of this in 10 games that year. 81 receptions, 1,196 receiving yards, 8 touchdowns. Just don't bring up his name to a Georgia Southern...he torched them for 231 yards that year. Excuse the quality:

Price couldn't hold a candle to Brian Quick. He was / is a thug and should have never been admitted to App.

Not everyone can be a princess, princess. A change of scenery can aid in changing a person and helping them grow. With Price's talent, the gamble was worth while if he committed himself to change.

Rumor has it when he got picked up by Boone police he asked for special shoes because he was an athlete and jail slippers were "bad for his feet". At least that's what I always heard.

He was the best App receiver I've ever seen and I've seen every App team at least once for a while now. I imagine if he wasn't a known flight risk some top 15 program would have picked him up. Yes, I think he was that good.

Still remember him getting 230 yards receiving against our secondary with 3 guys that made NFL rosters and jumping up into the air half a mile to bring down a couple of passes.

They signed him with the understanding that he would make an effort to mature. When that didn't happen, he was cut from the team which doesn't happen very often in Boone.

I think you hit it. He was immature, not a thug. I worked for the team and knew him briefly. Soccer was still his passion, even though he had moved on from playing it. His heart (and head) just wasn't on the football field.

Honest Question: How many of your wide receivers that played their final seasons in 2014 or later have at least made it to NFL camps?

NOt trying to be a smart-***, just want to know for sure because I doubt it's anything like the stretch where Dexter Jackson, Brian Quick, Tony Washington, and Andrew Peacock all either made it to camps or on NFL rosters.

As of now per ESPN you have the same number of receivers on NFL rosters as we do: 1.

I'm not trying to knock App State as a team...as long as you keep getting backs like Marcus Cox and Jalen Moore and as long as Satterfield is developing and coaching your QBs you'll be more than fine, but sorry, the App receivers corps are just not as scary as they used to be.

Quick was a freshman and only played in two games when Dex was a senior in 2007. TW and AP played together. Quick is the only one of those four I’d put ahead on Hennigans talent level (TH has better hands).

We’re probably the deepest at WR since the TW and AP year honestly.

That's not rumor, that was in the police report.

With the understanding he would try to mature? I can hear him now. "Coach Moore you give me a scholarship and I'll straighten up!" After he was arrested several times for disorderly conduct, under age drinking, choking people, getting into bar fights and resisting arrest Satterfield kicked him off the team. Something Moore wouldn't do. I know the officer who arrested Price (former App basketball player) the first time. He knew who Price was and tried to get him to back down and go home. Instead Price got all mouthy, bragging about who he was and basically dared him to arrest him.

Price played in the state playoffs and was a big time track star, so its not like he was some unknown. How does a guy like that from DC wind up in Boone? App NEVER recruits DC. Because Price was trouble in HS and people ran from him.

Of course, Bobo Beathard was in that same class. Both he and Price were from NOVA (technically not DC).

It's always interesting to hear others opinions of your team. However, I couldn't have a more different opinion. I don't know when I've looked at our receiving corps with more optimism. With the returning players along with the 2 transfers, We seem to have playmakers that can win the one-on-one plays, move the chains with difficult 3rd down catches and take the top off the opposing defense. Now, how we'll gel as a unit is always difficult to predict, but for pure talent I feel really good heading into Fall camp.

RE: APP STATE adds KSU Grad Transfer
Ahh the off season is always filled with optimism. I don't think APP will finish with less than 6 wins but there are some serious gaps to fill. My major concern is not with QB but with the line, in the last few seasons our QB has been sacked on average fewer than most any other teams QB, and that's not because he got rid of it fast, but because he had time to make decisions and he usually made the right one. This year the verdict is out on whether our line will jell and give the new QB time to make those throws and the holes needed for a run game. It all starts and begins with the line. I'm excited about our WR's but our win and loss stats hang on our line play.

Im expecting Georgia Southern to be much improved this year and will give us a hell of a game. Its going to be a fun interesting year!
