Brave New World

Atlas Shrugged (although this might be construed as child abuse considering the length)

Just make them watch the movies (trilogy).

I seem to remember that wasn't there one paragraph that was 6 or 7 pages long in that book?

Yep. Read it every year. Everyone would do well to also to remind them.

Always wondered how the gub'ment would invade our homes. Never in a million years thought sheeple would be so stupid to actually willingly pay their own money to purchase the devices of tyranny and use them themselves.

fwiw, you should have heard my last handful of convo's with the IRS...........DJT isn't the only one that knows how to negotiate....

it's amazing what you can do if you make it on your own dime.......

it's when you're on the grid it becomes trying to escape the 'pickle barrel'....

it's simply another game where you find out how and who writes the rules.....

Force would involve violence or the threat of violence. I would not support the premise of this OP on those grounds..... I would however love to introduce voluntarily the quickly read book..."Make your bed"...by Admiral William H. McRaven. It is exactly what many young people today need to read and absorb for success in their lives.

I'm certain the intent of force = req'd reading w/o 'muh'licious intent.....forgive me.....you know I can't help myself playing with ze language post 4:20 03-wink

regardless, I bookmarked this one to revisit in Nov. once I begin to go into hibernation mode....there's a number of titles listed I haven't read that piqued my interest....

Animal Farm is a MUST in Middle School, not high school.

For High School, I would offer two must-reads:
1984
Anatomy of a Disaster (discusses the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, and keys upon ethnically-slanted media coverage of internal events that moved the Serbs, Croats, and Muslims very far down a path of Goebbels-level manipulation). With the biased media we face, a must-read to show how trusting your "favorite source" can have terrible consequences.
