What exactly happened in B1 in the Rice USM game? Was the second USM run unearned ? Tough to tell on gametrackef.

Sac fly that scored a run. Runner on 2nd moved up a base on bad throw from CF.

In bottom 8 USM got a leadoff single, next batter grounded out then Rice pitchers have walked 6 straight and USM now leads 8-1. Still 1 out and bases loaded

Edit:
New pitcher greeted with a first pitch 2R double. 10-1

Edit
USM gets 8 to take a 12-1 lead into the 9th. Sandlin pulled beforehand as no need to pitch him in the 9th

Eagles win 12-1. Somewhat sad to see Rice playing the way they are.

Agreed. Graham should've retired last year considering the circumstances and how they ended up redeeming themselves in Biloxi. Tonight was Rice's biggest loss of the year: 11 points. However, really doesn't mean much because if they win game 2 tomorrow it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Rice always plays us tough.

Believe it or not, if the Eagles could have hit with men on base tonight it wouldn’t have been pretty. It was a 4-1 game til the 8th.

Looking at the final box score and here’s the main thing you need to know as the difference:

USM pitching (Sandlin and Bradford) - 15 K, 0 BB
Rice pitching (first 3 of the 5 total) - 14 BB

reminded me of our meltdown cws game against tejas.....they couldn't get it over the plate to save their lives....it went to ball 24 before the next out.....6 consecutive walks....

Give Rice pitching credit through 7 innings as USM left 11 runners on base because we couldn’t get anything going. Rice’s SP did as good a job as Rice could’ve asked for through 5.2 innings and then Amador did good up until after the first out of the 8th and that’s when Rice couldn’t find the strike zone and walked 6 straight which was followed by a 2 run double, a rbi groundout and a run scoring wild pitch.

A lot of times I don’t update when at USM home games. Thanks for picking up the slack
