Rick Rasnick
I saw his name mentioned in a post. Do you all know that he has early onset Alzheimer's disease? I am searching for the site but it does not look good for him.

I'm so sorry to hear we this. I'm his biggest fan. Felt like he was a great coach and would have been possibly our best ever if proper resources had been given to him.

This is heartbreaking.

Very good offensive coach. Heard he lost control of the team though.

He is not an old man. Sad news.

Dear Friends,
Yes, bad news. Do those of us on this board know that he was an assistant coach at San Jose when Eastern beat them in the California Bowl?

Walt Church's coach very sad to hear, yes you do wonder what coaches like him and Genyk would have done if given more resources, EMU ran its football program on nickels and dimes (but still had 21 sports) without ponying up for the facilities and coach's salaries, weight rooms etc. The building plan is a step in the right direction.

Good points. One of the reasons why we mostly failed in the past was lack of resources.

I would assume we were near the bottom of the MAC in FB spending.

Now we have a fighting chance as our resources are more in line with MAC FB spending.

Good one Ken, you are correct! Also Ron Adams burned his brother, a D back for San Jose St. for a touchdown.

He was Batch's coach as well indicating he could develop quarterbacks. He went into the insurance industry and got out of sports after the EMU experience.

I think you both hit the nail on the head with respect to the football program. EMU became a coaching graveyard rather than the stepping stone that Boisture, Cooper and Chlebek used it for. It starts with the administration, and when you have bad actors like Shelton and Diles running the show, that is what happens. Congrats to two women, Pres Martin and AD Lyke for getting the train back on track.

Dear Jerry,
You could not be more correct with regard to Shelton and Diles. Those two did more harm then people realize. I agree with what you said about President Martin and Athletic Director Lyke as well.

Why are you people bringing up past problems when we should only be hoping for the best for coach rasnick? Let just hope for the best outcome and put this other stuff on a different thread. Good luck coach.
