baseball attendance
Since we are nearing the halfway point and who doesn't like an attendance thread 05-stirthepot here's each team's average from the school's website. Only 7 of the 12 list attendance on their stat page so for the other 5 the attendance listed is from their most recent Saturday CUSA home game only.

USM - 3,878
Rice - 2,505
LT - 1,671
FAU - 690
UTSA - 532
ODU - 349
Marshall - 82 (not a typo, 82)

These are the ones who don't list attendance on their website:
Charlotte - 820 (Saturday game vs FIU)
UAB - 642 (Saturday game vs LT)
MT - 579 (Saturday game vs Charlotte)
FIU - 445 (Saturday game vs ODU)
WKU - 342 (Saturday game vs MT)

Around here baseball is to us what basketball is to yall. Baseball has no trouble getting 1500-2000 on a crappy weather day while basketball struggles to get 1500 regardless of weather and opponent (and yes I realize basketball is indoors but people could use that as an excuse to stay home and avoid driving in bad weather and then walking to the arena in said bad weather).

And to somewhat show the 2 sports interest level based off Twitter social media...
USM basketball twitter has 2.6k followers
USM baseball twitter has 13.9k followers

as well in year's past when we've had a baseball/basketball DH on a Saturday and the athletic dept does a "present your baseball ticket at the basketball game and your basketball ticket is only $5", baseball will still outdraw basketball by over 1000-1500 fans

Looking forward to having you guys here this weekend as this is traditionally one of the better attended weekend series we have every other year. The weekend weather appears to be perfect with a high of 73 on Friday and then up to 80 on Sunday with the rain chances being 10% all weekend. The only "wild card" is with it being Easter will that hurt or help with attendance. I still feel like worst case scenario we get 10k for the 3 games while on the flip side we could end up getting closer to 12K total with the good weather and holiday weekend.

It was that way at MT too until Coach Pete ran into health problems and hung onto the job for too long before retiring and prior to Kermit's run of excellence. Baseball used to be one of our better sports.

This time of year in Boca and the team's performance, I would think FAU would have a better turnout.

Marshall really needs a baseball park in Huntington.

The 100 miles of hate doesn't extend to baseball. However, the FB attendance doesn't spike for the MT vs WKU games either.

UAB's attendance is listed on the website, you just have to do some work to find it.

that's what changed the game here....

if there's one thing fat tub-0-goo proved, is there are still more basketball fans at the end of the day....

our attendance stats relative to butts is bs.....it's tix sold....

attendance threads always crack me up.......

A Thursday 3pm game would be a freak made necessary due to weather forecast, etc. One thing I notice in watching games on the cusatv set up is that USM has cameras covering the field and stadium from all angles giving viewers a look. Others never show the crowd, some never show the stadium, some like La Tech include fans in attendance although they are out on the railroad right of way looking over the fence and not even inside the park (I have never figured out how they count or estimate that number).

The south is college baseball country. Thats for certain. ODU is actually doing well to get 300 people to watch baseball in 45 degree weather.
