Impact of losing Porter
Now that it is official. Yes, it hurts but losing Porter may not be all that bad:

Pros of losing porter:
- Get rid of early foul trouble
- Get rid of a constant complainer
- Porter was not a great rebounder

Cons of losing Porter:
- Solid inside game
- Double digit scorer
- Cant teach height (6'10")

With the emergence of Godwin and MHJ I think we will be more of an outside shooting team vs a down low grind it out team. This may bring about a more exciting brand of basketball for ODU. We may drop on defense but maybe we will be adding more scoring.

Depends on what we get to replace him, Porter was easily the best returning big man in CUSA. If we are starting Aaron Carver next year, JJ needs to get his bags packed.

If anything we are adding worse foul trouble problems without him. If we add a grad transfer, and he gets in foul trouble, uh oh.

Pro of losing Porter? It may get Jeff Jones a few steps closer to the door.

I wonder if we continue man-to-man and have our center, BJ Stith, guarding the Penevas and Justin Johnsons. That'll be fun.

Only Johnson is gone and the point stands, because there will be others like them.

Peneva is not "gone" he declared for draft but will not be drafted. He will be back next season.

Many were glad to see him gone after his antics at the CUSA tournament. Frankly it was an embarrassment.

Pretty sure you are done if you declare for the NBA draft. You are fore fitting your eligibility as an amateur. You can only go back as a student once you declare

Wrong. You can declare for the draft and return to school. If you hire an agent, then you are done with school and no coming back. None of the Marshall guys have hired agents, so barring a miracle, they will be back.

I couldn't even count how many times Porter got 2 fouls within the first minutes of the game. We played without him in the first half because of that in a lot of games.

And now it will be like Porter getting 5 fouls before the opening tip.
